We're a United Reformed Church, a group of Christians with two sites, at opposite ends of Burnage, South Manchester.
See History for how we got here.
We provide worship, social events and community activity for people of all ages who live in a wide variety of properties surrounding our two sites; council housing and a garden village, cheek by jowl with detached private properties, luxury apartments and student flats, We meet every Sunday at one site or the other for worship led by a variety of lay and ordained preachers, with Open Table Communion celebrated regularly. Most services are streamed live on Zoom for those unable to attend in person. Young people have their own Junior Church each week and Messy Church occasionally
All who love Jesus or wish to know him better are assured of a warm welcome. See Calendar for where we are meeting and when.
Three buildings over two sites, means a lot can be going on at the same time, covering a wide age range of community and church activities..

In response to the loss of life in the attack on the synagogue in North Manchester on October 2nd, Cornerstone URC offer these thoughts and prayer:
Following the anti-Semitic terrorist attack on the synagogue in Crumpsall on Thursday morning, Cornerstone United Reformed Church offers our most sincere sympathy to all those affected.
Religious hatred and violence are the antithesis of the common tenet of respect and compassion which lie at the heart of all major faiths.
Judaism: “That which is hateful to you, do not do to your fellow. That is the whole Torah; the rest is commentary.” (Talmud, Shabbat 31a)
Islam: “None of you believes until he wishes for his brother what he wishes for himself.” (An-Nawawi’s Forty Hadith 13)
Christianity: “Do to others what you want them to do to you.” (Matthew 7:12)
Buddhism: “Do not hurt others in ways you yourself would find hurtful” (Udanavarga 5:18)
Hinduism: “This is the sum of duty: do nothing to others that would cause you pain if done to you.” (Mahabharata 5:117)
God, we pray for peace:
For wholeness and healing,
For safety when violence touches us all.
God, we pray for peace:
For justice and compassion,
For acceptance in the face of hatred.
We will not be held hostage to hopelessness.
We pray for peace.
We struggle for peace.
We bring peace.
We will be whole
Shalom
